Answering The Call Of God
25 years of ‘Answering The Call Of God’
Pastor Curt Disney told us the story of his redemption. God has a plan, a call for your life.
Pastor Steven Dabbs told us that we must have a life Scripture and a life motto. Remember, you are called for the good and the difficult times.
Pastor Cindy Madrid told us that the call beckons us from beyond the walls of the church. The very presence of God burst forth from behind the veil in the temple the day Christ was crucified.
Pastor Larry Brand said that we must ‘guard our call’. God asks us, “What would you choose over Me?” Sin? Idols? Self?
Pastor Mark Cullum warned us to beware of “paralysis by analysis”. We must put our “boots on the ground”.
Pastor Jim Ftacek said the call of God is to humility and service.
Pastor Larry Brand told us that before you answer the call, you have to hear God’s voice. We must hone our listening skills.
Pastor Ron Pinkston exhorted us on how we must forgive so we can answer the call of God. Because, no one owes us anything.
Pastor Jerry Quillen asks us “What is the point in all of this?” Souls! This is why God calls and why we must answer:
Philippians 3:11-15 (New King James Version)
“if, by any means, I may attain to the resurrection from the dead. Not that I have already attained, or am already perfected; but I press on, that I may lay hold of that for which Christ Jesus has also laid hold of me. Brethren, I do not count myself to have apprehended; but one thing I do, forgetting those things which are behind and reaching forward to those things which are ahead, I press toward the goal for the prize of the upward call of God in Christ Jesus. Therefore let us, as many as are mature, have this mind; and if in anything you think otherwise, God will reveal even this to you.”
2 Timothy 1:8-10 (New King James Version)
“Therefore do not be ashamed of the testimony of our Lord, nor of me His prisoner, but share with me in the sufferings for the gospel according to the power of God, who has saved us and called us with a holy calling, not according to our works, but according to His own purpose and grace which was given to us in Christ Jesus before time began, but has now been revealed by the appearing of our Savior Jesus Christ, who has abolished death and brought life and immortality to light through the gospel,”
